Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are an effective massage technique that allow the therapist to restore muscle tone and joint range of motion (ROM) effectively and efficiently. Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are a form of soft tissue manipulative methods in which the client’s muscles are actively used upon request, from a precisely controlled position in a specific direction, and against a distinctly executed counterforce. After learning what Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are and the factors in accurately applying MET to your clients, you will have the opportunity to perform MET on the major muscles or muscle groups of the extremities and trunk.
